Foo Xin
Foo is a qualified actuary, with 10 years of experience within the general insurance industry. Foo cofounded Fresh Canvas in 2018 and has a passion for AI and robotics to streamline and automate processes.
Foo has performed of AI and robotics pieces for clients including automated competitor pricing analysis, a number of market arbitrage tools and an image recognition tool focused on understanding environmental change. Many of these projects required a number of machine learning algorithms to be implemented on a variety of different data sources including text analytics, fraud detection and identification, policy outlier detection and technical cost pricing.
Prior to cofounding Fresh Canvas, Foo was an actuarial manager at Direct Line Group in the UK and a manager at Ernst & Young in Sydney. Foo led a number of reserving, capital modelling and other ad-hoc insurance projects for a number of different clients and different lines of business.
